VP of Sales
Job Title: Vice President of Sales / Sales Manager - California Visalia
Location: California (Hybrid - field-based with regional travel)
Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer / President
Role Overview
We are seeking a proven Sales Leader to drive commercial growth across California. The Vice President / Sales Manager will lead new business acquisition, manage key client relationships, and develop strategic sales initiatives to accelerate revenue growth. This role requires a commercially sharp, results-driven leader with deep experience in retail and logistics, who can identify market opportunities, build strong partnerships, and expand service networks across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Sales Leadership
- Develop and execute the California regional sales strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within retail, logistics, and e-commerce sectors.
- Drive revenue growth through solution-based selling and long-term client partnerships.
- Lead contract negotiations, RFP responses, and commercial terms with major accounts.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Serve as the senior point of contact for key accounts in the region.
- Collaborate with operations and customer success teams to ensure service excellence.
- Proactively manage customer performance reviews and retention strategies.
Market Development & Expansion
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
- Represent the company at trade events, client meetings, and industry forums.
- Develop partnerships with retailers, 3PLs, and last-mile providers to expand service offerings.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (operations, finance, HR, and technology) to deliver seamless solutions.
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing regional sales team as growth dictates.
- Report on KPIs, pipeline activity, and market performance to executive leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5 years of progressive sales experience in retail, logistics, transportation, or last-mile delivery.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving market growth.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, logistics, and last-mile delivery models.
- Exceptional relationship management, negotiation, and commercial skills.
- Ability to work autonomously with high accountability.
- Experience leading and scaling sales teams (preferred for VP level).
