Our client is a leading brand in the fitness industry with a national reputation for excellence. Are seeking a dynamic and experienced Buying Manager to join their team. The Buying Manager will play a pivotal role in managing inventory, developing relationships with suppliers, and ensuring the smooth flow of products from conception to delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in buying within a direct-to-consumer (DTC) environment, with a focus on efficiency, negotiation, and product development.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the inventory management team, ensuring clear accountability and efficient processes.
• Oversee forecasting and ordering on a weekly basis, optimizing inventory levels to meet demand.
• Coordinate with factory partners and engineers to streamline order management processes.
• Develop and nurture relationships with suppliers and factory partners, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
• Manage ocean freight shipments in collaboration with the supply chain team, optimizing costs and timelines.
• Implement and manage RFQ processes for commodities and freight forwarders, driving cost savings and efficiency.
• Lead line review processes and oversee product development projects from conception to launch.
• Monitor customer feedback and comments, incorporating insights into product development and improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Relevant qualification or degree
• Experience in buying within a DTC environment with 200 SKUs, including forecasting, negotiation, merchandising, and inventory efficiency.
• Experience with forecasting, ordering, and order management from Chinese suppliers with ocean freight lead times.
• Experience with new product development and changes with Chinese suppliers.
• Previous experience in a small company environment, including management or leadership of a small team.
• Industry experience in strength and conditioning equipment.
• Passion for strength and conditioning.
